Reykjavik Iceland Marriott Hotel

The first hotel in Iceland to debut and one of 13 worldwide hotels affected by the decline in tourist numbers in Iceland has announced that it will open in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland and home to the world's largest tourist destination. It is not a question of starting at a new location, but in the heart of the capital Reykavika.

A statement released today by Marriott said: 'Marriott International, Inc. has announced that it will open its first hotel in Iceland, the Reykjavik EDITION, in 2018. Ian Schrager Carpenter Company, one of the largest international hotel companies, today announced that it will open its first Marriott hotel in the Icelandic capital Reykavika. Marriott International Inc., a global leader in hotel management and services, today announced that it will open Marriott EDITION, a brand new Marriott hotel focused on luxury, comfort and luxury amenities, in the heart of the city, in a new location near the heart of Reykavík. A statement from its parent company, International Hotel Group, Ltd., said: "Ian Schrager's Carpenter & Company will open the first ever Marriott Resort & Resorts International (RRI) Hotel and Residences (" RRI "), a hotel and resort management company focused on the future of tourism and hospitality in Europe and the Middle East, in 2017 and 2018.

The hotel plans to open in 2018 with 100 rooms overlooking the historic Jackson Hole town square, with Jackson Mountain and the Great Smoky Mountains in the background. Experience the breathtaking views from the Icelandic mountain and enjoy luxurious amenities such as a private pool, spa, fitness centre, gym and spa facilities.

The opening of the hotel in the capital is managed by Marriott in the downtown area of the project. Accommodation in Reykjavik is ideal for business travelers as well as tourists from the US and Europe. It is the second hotel in Iceland developed by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott and is due to open in 2018. Together with Schragers Carpenter Company, it is owned by Icelandic designer Marriott.
