See all the main sights in just one day! Two of the most popular sightseeing routes in Iceland can now be done in one day, by taking part in this ultimate Golden Circle and South Coast tour. First you will visit the Golden Circle, which includes Thingvellir National Park and the historic assembly fields, the powerful Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area where you can see the geyser Strokkur erupt from up close. Then the tour continues towards the coast, all the way to the famous black sand beach in Reynisfjara, and to two more waterfalls - Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. This is the ultimate Iceland experience, all in a single day.

Departing from Reykjavik in the morning, the tour starts by visiting the famous Golden Circle area. The Golden Circle is a route comprised of three main stops, which are Thingvellir national park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area.
Thingvellir, also known as assembly fields, is where the world's oldest parliament was founded in 930. Here we will explore the rich history of the area, and learn about the remarkable geological formations that can be found in the park. This is also where the Earth's tectonic plates are pulling apart and creating a rift valley, causing impressive fissures and canyons in the lava fields. The next stop is Gullfoss waterfall, a large beautiful waterfall in Hvítá glacier river, where glacial meltwater cascades into a deep canyon. From there we head to Geysir, a geothermal area where Iceland's largest erupting hot springs can be found. Here we'll see the geyser Strokkur erupt every few minutes, up to 30 metres into the air, so you can't miss it.
After having spent the first half of the day touring the Golden Circle, it's time to go towards the coastline. The South Coast is known for extraordinary landscapes, which is exactly what you will be seeing.
After driving through lush farmlands, with views of volcanoes and glaciers on one side and the Atlantic ocean on the other, we will make a stop at Skógarfoss waterfall. You can walk right up to the base of the falls and hear the thunderous roar of the water. Then we go to Reynisfjara, the world-famous black sand beach. See the tall ocean waves crash on the black volcanic sand, sometimes reaching all the way to the basalt columns and a small cave in the mountain. Off shore, Reynisdrangar sea stacks rise from the water.
The last stop of the tour before heading back to Reykjavik is at Seljalandsfoss, where you have the chance to walk behind a waterfall and feel the spray on your skin.
